Waffles

Wait For It.

There I was, minding my own business, humming a song I'd just made up, doodling tiny figures on a scrap of paper. Pure happiness. When this weird-grumpy-dude asked me to shut up. He was rather polite which embarrassed the hell out of me. I did shut up, at first, then I started again. Hum dum dum di dum bum gum bum dum dummm dumm. Ta ddaada ddaa.. Zumi dumi shumi..Prringgg. The dude started screaming at the top of his lungs, banging his fists on the table, his head on the walls, he tore on his clothes and pulled his hair out and then his brain herniated through his mouth! Yes, really. RIP.

Yay. I did it. Yes, yes I exaggerate. The guy didn't even say anything, he just gave the evil black look that gave me a stroke. <-- now that did happen.

Anyway.

You're about to be friends with this person when he/she/it does something that makes you go like 'Huh =/'

Our history-taking exam was about to start. I, being such a good girl, lent all my sheets to my friends. I was left with one very messy inky sheet. I was sure if I submitted my history on it, I would about 0.0 marks. So I asked this girl if I can have a tiny single paper from her Enormous-est-est-est-Notebook-Ever. She said No in a cold voice. Just like that. At such a crucial moment. Now am never going to lend my novels to her, Humph.

Turn offs: when people keep going on about their awesome lives and their awesome crushes. Those ONLY talk about their crushes. The nerdy friend who get an embolic attack when they don't top. And weirdos who talk gross during meal time <-- usually brothers.

That was very informative post, wasn't it? Right. Am BLANK =[ *sob*

So my mum is in hospital. She'll be back by Saturday. Inshaa'Allah. I really really really miss her. Home isn't good without her.

....I heart Chandler Bing in Friends. Can I have him? Pretty please?

Still. Hearts!

Will be on your blog soon =)

Happy moments!

P.S. Did waffles lure you here?

Birthdays and Hospitals. Good days, bad days

I found out something, once you turn 20 you don't feel you're not a teen *applause. she has got it!* LoL, dumb. You guys were right, it's quite okay, am same old Sidrah.

My birthday, 4th February turned out to be a Perfect Day. We went to Arizona Grills, ordered too much, eavesdropped on the couple sitting behind us (couldn't help it), came back happy and full. You can read about it on Sana's blog, if you feel like. Then came Sana's birthday, 6th February. It was also a Perfect Day, for girls. Funky hairdos, eye make up, gossip, crazy pictures, yummy food . It was awesome. With so much going in college.. Stressful, stressful college, no more a fun place.. these two days made my whole month. I feel so lucky to have such good friends, especially you Sana, my good old bestie, and I really LOVE the card you made for me =)

Sana surprises me with a cake.
I surprise her with a cake, too

 TaDa. Just to distract you.

3rd year is another world, 'our first exposure to patients'. Being a BDS student, I thought (and had hoped), it would only be oral cavities but no, we have to do quite a bit of other stuff as well and you know what? It's good, it's really interesting. The day when we had to visit the hospital for the first time, I was freaked out. What are they going to make us do?? That was on our minds and tongues for the 45 minutes of jumpy bus ride.. and oooo that stinky place (not going to mention the name), it is stinky as hell. The bus ride could be pure fun if only the smell would go.. Oh you should see our poor scrunched up noses, and let us know if we look cute.

Anyway, to the Hospital. It's stinky, depressing and dark, and not always scary. Oh yes, we have the bad days where the doctors insult us right in front of the patients when we cannot palpate the enlarged liver or when we accidentally poke our nails in patient's poor tummy.. Or worse when we so passionately take the history and we are told by the awesome doctors it SUCKS big time. So there are good days and bad days. You must be thinking what happens on good days. Nothing. We don't get insulted.

Coming to the patients.. OMG.. most of them get really pissed off  'zyada magaz mari mat kar' .. Yes doc, don't you dare ask so many questions. Am sick, I wanna sleep and I don't give a damn about the history you're taking. It's gonna suck big time anyway. Happens. Sometimes their attendants keep looking daggers at us. One time I was asking the questions to this bedridden young lady, and her mother-in-law kept poking my back and yelling 'Typhoid hai isko.. typhoid hai.. bata dia na typhoid hai' (she didn't have typhoid by the way). What can we do? It is their right to get pissed off. Not all of them are like that, though, some of them are really cooperative. So, good days and bad days.

Now when the Perio rotation starts (which is the Real thing for the BDS students) I want to do my best. I so want to be a good dentist and I don't want to mess things up (for me and my patients-to-be). <-- freaked out. Will my hands shake when I will be doing my first scaling procedure? God. Eeek =|

I had better get off the net now. Big fat books to study =)

Oh, and I Love my life. It's perfect.. almost.

Mistakes Happen

He drove slowly on the highway. People in other cars yelled at him to drive fast. One guy even called him a piss head. He couldn't agree more. He had messed up, big time. His life had no meaning anymore. Tears trickled down his cheek. He sniffed and wiped his nose. His life.. a man he used to be.. seemed like a fading dream now. The bundles of money he has stashed in various banks were of no use to him. There was no one to share with. His wife and his children hated him. He could not blame them. He had ruined their life to live his own. Affairs after affairs, drinking 24 hours, spending money on himself and his endless girlfriends, that was his life. He was one good looking man once, tall and well built with his dark blond hair, blue eyes, high cheekbones. Simply, he was handsome, with no doubt. Look at me now, he sighed, I have a paunch, receding hairline and I have to wear ugly glasses. His silver Volvo doesn't seem to attract girls anymore. He was no Edward, after all, just an ugly and fat middle aged man. He had tried to amend his mistakes. It had been too late though. His children said they had forgiven him but he knew they hadn't. His wife had made a boyfriend. She was happy enough. He sighed heavily and looked around him.

He pulled the brakes when he saw the yearly SpringWell festival sign on a new huge playground. He hadn't attended it in years. Why not go in? He parked and got out of his car and walked fastly toward the entrance. He bought his ticket, smiled at the guard and went in. He was feeling very excited, like a little kid. He was smiling widely and his spirits were high. He saw couples, kids and fat housewives having fun. Their cheeks were glowing red from the laughter. He wished for a moment that he had someone to laugh with. However, he was too high to feel sad again. He would take rides, he would eat cotton candy, he would play games, he would buy useless teacups and T shirts which won't fit him. Yay, his heart cried out in happiness. He bought some cotton candy and ate it slowy. He loved the way it melted slowly in his mouth. How very yummy, way better than the chocolate mousse, he decided. After finishing his cotton candy, he turned toward the Hotdog vendor. He smiled politely at the fat lady standing behind him and let her buy first.

'What a gentleman,' the fat lady whispered to her fat friend.

'Yes, you don't get much of them these days,' the friend seemed very amazed too.

He had heard them. His was pleased with himself. He sat on the bench when he had bought his hotdog. He savored each bite. How delightful. He loved food. Food came in every color, shape and price. As he took another big bite he caught a little boy looking at his hotdog hungrily. He ignored it at first, but the little boy kept staring. He couldn't help but feel bad for the little boy. The little boy looked very weak and poorly dressed. His bright yellow shirt was torn in several places and his trousers had patches.

'You want some, little man?" he asked the little boy. The little boy nodded meekly. He stood up and got 4 hotdogs, all with different sauces. One was for himself. The little boy and he sat on the bench and got busy with their hotdogs.

'I am Little Tommy. What's your name, sir?' the little boy asked politey, his blue eyes were wide open. The ketchup was smeared on one of his cheeks.

He was surprised. Nobody had asked his name in ages, must be 10 years. He had forgotten it himself.

'Wait a second, Little Tommy' he pulled out his wallet and looked at his ID card closely. He looked confused for a moment and then it dawned on him. The ID card said it right.

'I am Fred' he smiled at the boy and took a big bite of the hotdog. He was happy. For now. But now is Forever.

Erm. Stupid? Good? Whatever? Wrote in a hurry or I would have not written it at all. I can relate to this man. No I don't have a paunch, nor am going bald, I don't have a partner or kids who hate me, plus no silver Volovo.. It is that we are just humans, we make mistakes quite often, sometimes we regret them, sometimes we forget them. Don't be too easy on yourself. nor be too hard, It is okay to be a bit selfish sometimes (but not like our younger Fred, huh?). As somebody said 'You are only human, don't feel too guilty' =o

Mistakes happen. Don't regret too much.

So, my shopping is done. Ta Da!! I love my new shoes *hearts hearts*. Got blue, purple and turquoise eyepencils too (God knows if I will ever use them :s). What about you?

The Big-ish Day

Finally, after the rain, bad halat of Karachi and whatever, tomorrow is the BIG day, our effin Poster Competition. I will post the pictures tomorrow on this post =) ..please like ours the best!

We are all ready for it! Submitted the poster today. It is a bit glittery, nice red, black and cute yellow! There is this silver Mr. Tooth who is Gay and looks handsome with its little red bow.

and.. (let's talk about me).. I have painted my nails a funky shade of coffee, my new dress is waiting to be worn, studied a bit too (dental fluorosis is not that interesting). The new purse Hafsah gifted me is too small so I cannot take it (my ugly black n white bag will do). Asma is supposed to bring matching earrings for me =/ I hope she won't forget! So If we won't win, at least we will look good!

Asma might also give her birthday treat ^^ that means trip to the mall! Yay .. we will have to buy gifts for her? Oh no.

One thing: Real friends are NOT supposed to betray! No cheating allowed. Friendship is way more important than Rs 5000 (isnt it?) TRUST is like a paper, once crumpled, it won't be PERFECT again. Value your friends, don't get so low for money. Let's be good

Friendship Is Precious. Heart it.
Update: We didn't win but still it was good fun .. we did look good. So here's the picture!
