Birthdays and Hospitals. Good days, bad days

I found out something, once you turn 20 you don't feel you're not a teen *applause. she has got it!* LoL, dumb. You guys were right, it's quite okay, am same old Sidrah.

My birthday, 4th February turned out to be a Perfect Day. We went to Arizona Grills, ordered too much, eavesdropped on the couple sitting behind us (couldn't help it), came back happy and full. You can read about it on Sana's blog, if you feel like. Then came Sana's birthday, 6th February. It was also a Perfect Day, for girls. Funky hairdos, eye make up, gossip, crazy pictures, yummy food . It was awesome. With so much going in college.. Stressful, stressful college, no more a fun place.. these two days made my whole month. I feel so lucky to have such good friends, especially you Sana, my good old bestie, and I really LOVE the card you made for me =)

Sana surprises me with a cake.
I surprise her with a cake, too

 TaDa. Just to distract you.

3rd year is another world, 'our first exposure to patients'. Being a BDS student, I thought (and had hoped), it would only be oral cavities but no, we have to do quite a bit of other stuff as well and you know what? It's good, it's really interesting. The day when we had to visit the hospital for the first time, I was freaked out. What are they going to make us do?? That was on our minds and tongues for the 45 minutes of jumpy bus ride.. and oooo that stinky place (not going to mention the name), it is stinky as hell. The bus ride could be pure fun if only the smell would go.. Oh you should see our poor scrunched up noses, and let us know if we look cute.

Anyway, to the Hospital. It's stinky, depressing and dark, and not always scary. Oh yes, we have the bad days where the doctors insult us right in front of the patients when we cannot palpate the enlarged liver or when we accidentally poke our nails in patient's poor tummy.. Or worse when we so passionately take the history and we are told by the awesome doctors it SUCKS big time. So there are good days and bad days. You must be thinking what happens on good days. Nothing. We don't get insulted.

Coming to the patients.. OMG.. most of them get really pissed off  'zyada magaz mari mat kar' .. Yes doc, don't you dare ask so many questions. Am sick, I wanna sleep and I don't give a damn about the history you're taking. It's gonna suck big time anyway. Happens. Sometimes their attendants keep looking daggers at us. One time I was asking the questions to this bedridden young lady, and her mother-in-law kept poking my back and yelling 'Typhoid hai isko.. typhoid hai.. bata dia na typhoid hai' (she didn't have typhoid by the way). What can we do? It is their right to get pissed off. Not all of them are like that, though, some of them are really cooperative. So, good days and bad days.

Now when the Perio rotation starts (which is the Real thing for the BDS students) I want to do my best. I so want to be a good dentist and I don't want to mess things up (for me and my patients-to-be). <-- freaked out. Will my hands shake when I will be doing my first scaling procedure? God. Eeek =|

I had better get off the net now. Big fat books to study =)

Oh, and I Love my life. It's perfect.. almost.

Being One

We had been celebrating Independence Day for 3 days in college. It was green clothes, green jewellery, green scarfs and even green cakes! It seemed nice but was it real or we did that for fun? I guess for fun. Do you feel you are a Pakistani anymore? The spirit has gone. We were supposed to be one, 'The Pakistanis', not Sindhi, Punjabi, Balochi and Pakhtuns. We have created walls between us for some land and money which won't last. Can we trust anyone to help us if we need it? The securities are bribed and the outlaws are supported. People kill people brutally, little girls are being raped, innocents get tortured for the crimes they don't want to commit.. the hopeless widows and orphans can only cry. Who cares? Not happening to us, is it? A crash, a flood, an earthquake, we are out to steal the belongings of others. A shoe on a face, not going to solve any problem, not even a thousand shoes. It cannot be that one person's fault. It is all of us, lost in our self-loving, egotistic, grudging and stingy glamour.

We can start from being one, believing in being one, let's just be the Pakistanis, not Sindhi, Pakhtuns, Balochi and Punjabi. Is that hard? How can you be better than the other one? Allah created all of us and we are equal.

Anyway!

New forward: The Land of Happiness - Our Pakistan

We are happy:

when electricity comes
we come home alive and uninjured after shopping
we get a seat in a public bus
we see our cell and wallet in our pockets/bags after getting off the bus
allowance of double sawari and dinner in weddings after a long time (on and off)
we see our slippers still there outside the mosque
no 'khud-kash hamla' in the mosque you were offering prayers

Pure Bliss =]

P.S. I want to say alot of things and I don't want to say them. I hate politics! I hate this weird Pakistan now. I wish we could all get along like we used to in middle school... I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy... ahem ahem.

Laughter Just Bubbles Up!

My little brother came up to me and told a sad news. His 2 days old yellow chick had died. I started laughing (how evil). My brother looked shocked. It was just that I felt so sorry for him that I had to laugh. God knows why it happened.

A woman after attending a funeral of her mother was on her way home, news came her father had also died. She laughed for 2 good hours. Don't tell anyone but this woman was my grandma.

Once in 4th grade, a teacher was scolding me, I burst out laughing loudly - I thought he looked like a monkey from Dexter. Eek.

And sometimes on lame things like.. 'am on a diet;.. 'I love you with all my heart' .. 'how do I look?' (my mum laughs Every time I ask her), when some one slips, on a stupid joke..sooo many things!

See.. laughter just bubbles up - on inappropriate moments too

We don't have to learn it, we are born with this capacity. - do you know how do apes laugh? They pant! Laughter is contagious. Whenever I hear my father laugh (often over a silly thing on news) I start to giggle At his laughter -sounds so funny! My mum goes tomato red when she laughs, and most of the time my brothers and I are laughing at her redness.

My university friends, Hafsah, Asma and I have this great 'Our Song' 'Anu malik's Dekho Baarish Horehi Hai'.... the song goes like 'Dekho baarish horehi hai.. it's raining, it's raining.. dard horaha hai.. it's paining, it's paining'

Dumb, right? It makes us laugh, simple!

It is so lame that we actually sing it (with our own lyrics).. be it anything. On Hafsah' s brother wedding we sang 'dekho shadi horehi hai'.. we have created full songs (there's a exam songs, cafe song, fail song, anger song and even a baby birth song). If I post, my blog will be R-rated -___-

We saw its video after 1.5 year of Hafsah's raving (she had introduced us to this song). We couldn't stop laughing. One of our friends laughed so loud that we thought she's being murdered. If you are retarded like us and laugh at lame stuff, do watch its video. What was that guy thinking?
We find it awfully funny. It is one of those things.

...ahem ahem...

I read somewhere that 'Laughter is a celebration of Good'. So do it often =] It brings us joy, makes us feel lighter, we look prettier, its playful and Fun! We have cried after laughing.. ah, emotional moments... and laughed after crying.. happens alot. I do feel better, refreshed.. anew.

When do you laugh??

P.S it is raining so hard.. Ask for forgiveness! Allah bless us.

P.S2. I bought a rusty colored CUTE dress today.. *smile* ..and I walked in rain, a bit. It was awesome!

A Loner

Alone he is, a goon
He lives in a circle
Curled up in his own cocoon
Happiness he drives away
No voice who croons
Satisfaction inhabits this loner
Change he might, not soon

.....*ahem ahem*....

Anyway. Something always happens when we are supposed to meet, Sana and I. Today the sun decided to hide and clouds wept. I Love the Rain but today it made me kind of mad. Oh well. We did meet, had awesome fun =) *Happy Dance*

..Next time am going to do a happy post  =)

Dissolved - My Moment

Amazing weather, isn’t it? On days like this I want to sing, dance with trees and run on the rainbow. I wish I were Pocahontas. Yes am bonkers today, but in a good way!

I woke up at 7 AM and went to the balcony...surprise, surprise... the heavy rain greeted me. For few minutes I just stood there gazing at the lovely rain falling down (oh I wish I had made the video), the sun had become a tiny silver pearl and the grey clouds were in a roar. I saw tiny puddles with leaves floating in them, the cars were wet and bright, the earth and the walls were being washed by the nature. My grumpy mood disappeared (it is my typical mood when I wake up early). I felt like a little kid all ready to play. I was actually excited to go to college (we got off, though, which is better, I guess!). If I had my soul mate here, I probably would have danced with him (are we getting emotional here?)

It was a happy moment. My moment

now a little poem 'Dissolved'

I am awed
The nature is my beauty
I let the kisses of the clouds fall down on me
Joyful is the taste, the scent is heavenly

My soul wakes up as I dance
So harmonious is the song of rain
Little romance, a happy chance
All dreams run anew in my vein

A flash of golden
It is almost the end
Seven colors bind
I walk within

Happy rain to You! Eat pakoras =)

Smile Saturday

So many thoughts.. some little ones, I forget.. Some little ones, I don't.. Some big ones, I want to.

I like Saturdays. They are light and happy (you'll know what I mean if you were me). I have to do so much work.. have to make draw, cut and color about 120 pictures (Poster Competition is getting on my head, not today though.), big pathology test coming on Tuesday (parasitology.. eek), plus other little tasks, still am not worried or tensed. I know I can do it.
I love the look of my room right now. Everything is bright and colorful. It is not color-coded. My bed is blue and of oak, carpet and curtain are off white n blue, cupboard and dressing table are brown (I don't like!) writing table is pink and blue, cushion are orange, purple and blue (gee I just realized blue is almost everywhere. It was meant to be blue, but then I thought why not all the colors? Now I want a big poster for the bare wall and a cute little pink sofa. I will get it soon =) *wink*

I wish I lived in a peaceful country. Everyday dozens of people are killed for no reason at all. They were just the unlucky ones who were at the wrong place at the wrong time. It could be you or me. I cannot go out alone because there are bad people out there. It is not safe. Not fair, right? Where is the fun and where is the peace? I want to be free.
Anyhow.
There are killer amoebas in the water these days. They are pure evil. They go inside your head, drink the CSF and eat your brain. Sounds Horrible? It is. They have killed 12 people (maybe more?). One of them was our poor teacher. He was only in his late twenties. He studied pathology, isn’t it ironic? We were hoping for a miracle that he might survive, but he did not. May he rest in peace.

So this was only a random update =) I want to write a story.. Maybe I will.

Stay happy.. It is good for our Immune System!

Drama-Free Bubble. Respect it.

As I promised, this is going to be a Typical-normal-me post. No weird hearts hanging around us this time. You see, insanity is in my blood. Oops.

I got a Pharmacology test on Tuesday and a Pathology test on Friday, plus a big Poster Competition day on August 4th *sigh* So much to do, so little time. I can do it right. I love weekends, although Sunday is not really a Me-day. The sad next-day-college feeling kind of depresses me sometimes. I love my college but don't you think almost 9 hours a day is too much? Kills me.

Today am in Drama-Free Bubble. Everyone respect it *grin*

There are many Bubble days. 'In-my-Bubble' when am moody. 'Happy-all-invited-Bubble' when am in a great mood. 'Hyper-Bubble'.. 'Pissed-off-bubble' .. 'Typical-me-Bubble' "zombified-Bubble'.. and there's one called 'Eat-it-all-bubble' day too!

Drama-free Bubble means Don't argue with me. I don't have patience, I can be rude, and I want to stay happy so Don't kill my happy mood! Beware. *smile*..no need of your drama.

Everyday has something new to give, yet few things remain unchanged forever. I like that.

I liked Sherlock Holmes. The guy did really good! Jude Law looked cute as Dr. watson even with the mustache.

Lookie, happy thoughts come my way!

She Makes Another Blog!

I have finally made the new blog. The reason I left the old one is I don’t really feel like that person anymore. I still like the same things, still do the same things, but something inside me has grown up a bit (I know what you’re thinking but yes). I don’t have such a big crush on Zac Efron (just a teeny weeny, maybe), I like Gerard Bulter more. Oh, i love my old blog very very much. Its me, after all. Bunny burrow all the way! =)

When I first start blogging in 2008 I was pretty psyched about it, I used to update it about thrice a day, would post the blog’s link here and there to get readers, would read every kind of blog posts and comment on them and hoping that maybe I would get a comment or two, back. I did. And layouts! They gave me a hard time. Still do. Anyway all of a sudden, blogging became kind of boring. I didn’t know what to write. It all felt so useless.

However, am back and it is great! You see am a pretty confused person, before doing anything I ask a 1000 questions to myself and to my friends, who get annoyed sometimes! I didn’t want to make an account on twitter because I wasn’t sure what I will do with it, I mean, being on twitter is like talking to yourself. And now am totally addicted to it now. It’s fun! ^^

What’s this fuss about Justin Bieber?? O.o He is such a kid! He has got a bit of a voice,I agree but still.. girls are going crazy. What about poor Robert Pattinson? Totally ditched. Just like that! Sad.

So am really happy right now <3.. goofy smile wont leave my face. Inspired and overwhelmed =) good good feeling!

Happy New Blog to ME!! Yay!!
